The project for Walmart, one of the largest retailers in the world, was part of a next-generation fulfillment center development program.

As part of the first generation, five facilities were built, with the largest - McCordsville - becoming a milestone in the history of KNAPP AG.

As part of the PLC implementation team, we were responsible for:

  • Programming and commissioning PLC controller in selected zones, including carton handling lines, buffer areas, and picking zones.
  • Integration of the control layer with the higher-level WMS and the KNAPP KiSoft system..
  • FAT testing and on-site commissioning support,, in close cooperation with KNAPP teams and external suppliers.

  • 96 Pick-it-Easy workstations on two levels
  • 34 km of conveyors integrating all operational zones
